The Connecticut River is the largest river system in the New England area. The Connecticut River is a fantastic fishery with a lot of big bass! Both largemouth and smallmouth. This is a beautiful river system that I like to employ power fishing tactics around heavy current areas with grass and rock. Unlike smallmouth in lakes these small mouth will get into shallow areas with heavy current and sit in current seems waiting to ambush there prey. Spinnerbaits, crankbaits and topwater baits are a just a few tactics i like to use to target these hard fighting fish! This is a fishing trip that will be remembered forever!
