Spofford Lake in southern New Hampshire is a smaller body of water at 739 acres. Spofford Lake has some of the biggest smallmouth bass in New Hampshire, with a chance of a trophy Bass on any cast. Spofford also has a great population of Largemouth Bass. Structure comes in the form of rocks, boulders, shoals, humps, sandy flats, and docks. You can target these fish utilizing many techniques from dropshotting in deep water and throwing football jigs to throwing a crankbait, topwater and jerkbait mid depth all the way to just a few feet of water. This body of water is also one of the few that you have a chance of catching a trophy sized Northern Pike.
